Investment Spotlight: Nerd Crawler, LA33
The creator economy is a $250B industry and growing fast, but creators struggle to maximize earnings from their one-of-a-kind products and experiences.
Nerd Crawler is an auction marketplace for creators to sell rare products, starting with comic book artists.
How it works:
- Creators list their original artwork on the platform. For example, their first drawings of Poison Ivy.
- AI-powered tools streamline the process, making it easier to create and manage listings.
- Nerd Crawler uses a dynamic bidding process, which adds time when someone bids, increasing earnings up to 3x.

Founder and CEO Chris Tung has been a lifelong comic fan. In high school, he met his hero, Frank Cho and snapped a photo with him. Years later, Chris used that same photo to pitch Frank on a better way to auction his comic art—and it worked. Chris built Nerd Crawler from scratch, and Frank immediately saw its value and became one of the early adopters.
Chris attended Founder University Cohort 8. He pitched Jason and Mike in our end-of-cohort pitches, where we welcomed him into LAUNCH Accelerator’s 33rd cohort with a $125K investment.
Since launching in 2024, Nerd Crawler has averaged 3x QoQ growth, reaching a $1.4M GMV run rate and $100K revenue run rate. In Q1 2025, they’re launching livestream hangouts and auctions with creators.
