What We Learned at Startup Tuneup - June 2024

Startup Tuneup is a free, online two-day event for founders who have launched their product but haven't raised a Series A. It’s jam-packed with content, networking, and investor pitching!

We run the event four times per year, with up to 200 startups per cohort.

Here’s some highlights of what we learned!

Day 1

Jacqui Deegan, Managing Director at LAUNCH, shared her checklists for talking to Investors and fundraising.

Joshe Ordonez, Founder and CEO of Airpals, shared her learnings on building 0 to 1 and getting early traction.

Scott Bair, Founder of Lunour & Timewell, showcased his $100K Branding and Design Crash Course. He also did a live website takedown!

Founders then pitched their startups to the LAUNCH investment team, judging by President, Mike Savino and Principal Kelly Schricker!

Becki DeGraw of Wilson Sonsini shared tactical considerations for founders to know when negotiating a term sheet.

Kelly Schricker showed how to scale a sale; including salary and commissions structure!‍

Heidi Braun, Director of Operations at LAUNCH, reviewed how to create a data room, and to manage the diligence process.

Presh Dineshkumar, formerly Chief of Staff at LAUNCH, and Founder of The Wellness Company, shared his strategies for launching and marketing new product features.

Nicole Beals of Allsmith Growth shared how to discovering and validating customer stories.

Craig Zingerline gave a crash course on his five key elements to driving early startup traction.

Jonathan Chan of Wilson Sonsini hosted a session on startup legal foundations.

Matt Wilkerson, founder of Extern discussed his lessons in scaling his startup.

Founders pitched their startups to Jason Calacanis and Stu Smith, Investor at Coughdrop Capital!
