As executive producer, you’ll run “This Week in Startups,” a twice-weekly show in its 8th year with an audience of 150,000+, “Angel,” featuring the world’s greatest angel investors, and develop new series.

Responsibilities & Skills Required

  • Research & book guests for audio-video taping in studio & in the field
  • Work with LAUNCH founder & podcast host to set direction of the shows, & create new series
  • Coordinate with director on production & post-production
  • Write show notes, blog posts, & manage outreach with audiences across all communications channels
  • Cultivate & maintain partnerships with broadcast platforms (iTunes, YouTube, Soundcloud, etc.)
  • 7+ years of production & editorial experience
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Be exceptional at productivity, communications & web software (i.e., Mailchimp, Google Docs, Keynote, Squarespace, WordPress, Outreach.io)
  • Relentless positivity & dogged resilience -- we're a scrappy team doing world-class work
  • Proactive thinking & the ability to anticipate problems is critical. We need to have backup plans for our backup plans
  • Ability to multitask is important, but most critically, we need you to focus in on important efforts and execute them deftly. It's crazy how everyone puts "multitasking" on their job descriptions for the past 20 years when what the world really needs is more mindfulness
  • Startup and journalism experience is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation

  • $70k - $90k based on experience

Growth Marketing Associate

We're looking for a rockstar Growth Marketing Associate to help us create content & expand our presence/reach online to "support founders and inspire innovation."

You will work out of our newly established office in Toronto. You have to be nimble enough to take on new projects and solve problems in real time with your own judgment.

Responsibilities:

= Growth Marketing =

  • Create/Schedule postings on our Social Media channels
  • Create visually pleasing/high-quality ad assets for upcoming events, and other promotional activities
  • Ability to create content for Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn (native to the platform)
  • Monitor the growth of each social media channel.

= Podcast =

  • Create clips from This Week In Startups Podcast (https://www.youtube.com/user/ThisWeekIn/videos) to post across Social Media.
  • Sorting through content to pick/choose interesting parts.
  • Ability to create consistent quality content.

= Requirements & Skills Required =

  • Bachelor's degree (or proof of high fluid intelligence)
  • Quick learner
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understand copywriting
  • Some design experience (Photoshop, Illustrator, HTML experience)
  • Video editing experience (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro)
  • Desire to work in a team-based, entrepreneurial company
  • You're going to need a very high EQ because we're dealing with a range of folks.
  • Be frugal but never cheap -- and understand the difference.
  • Be exceptional at productivity and communications software (i.e., Google Docs, Keynote, CRM, CMSs and whatever the next cool tool is).
  • Startup experience is a plus, but if you fit the qualities above you'll understand what we need.

This is a contract-to-hire position, meaning you will work for 3-4 months first, with the ability to turn into a full-time position.
